Top 100 Best PSP Games of All Time

What are the Top 100 Best PSP Games of All Time? The PlayStation Portable, i.e. the lil powerhouse that could(n’t topple Nintendo), may officially have been replaced by the much more powerful PlayStation Vita handheld, but you can still find a wayward new PSP game selling in the wild here or there.

With hundreds of games, tons of long RPGs, and lots of quirky Japanese titles, as well as movies sold in the unique “UMD” (Universal Media Disc…. remember those?) format, the PSP is a great system for collector’s and gamers alike. There are hidden gems all over the place and due to the PSP getting trounced in sales by the Nintendo DS, many players never got around to picking a system up.

Used PSP games can be had for fairly cheap and new PSP systems can still be bought new in some stores. So if you haven’t bought a PSP, now is a great time to do so.

Sadly, this September 2014 marked the end of the PSP’s ability to download content from the PlayStation Network’s PSN Store on the PSP, however you can still add or buy digital PSP content to your PSP from PSN through a PlayStation 3 or through a computer; It it just impossible to do so wirelessly now (making those who own a digital-only PSP Go system completely abandoned)…

Thankfully you can still access all of the PSOne Classics, PSP Minis, Indie & PSN games, movies, songs & loads of other content on the PlayStation Network via the above two methods (buy them on a PS3 or PC then transfer them to your PSP)… For now… eventually that support will be dropped as well. A sad reflection of the digital age we live in.

With a pastel presentation, LocoRoco 2 looks like a coloring book come to life with a mixture of addicting tilt and roll gameplay. The best kids puzzle game for the PSP has a simplistic yet jolly art design and gentle gameplay with cute characters that provide a lot of fun.

In LocoRoco 2, players tilt the environment by pressing the PSP’s shoulder buttons in order to navigate a giant jelly-like blob (called the LocoRoco) in each level while avoiding hazards and enemies and finally reaching an end goal. The LocoRoco can get help from unique characters along the way, swing from vines, squeeze through cracks, and can grow huge by eating a ton of different fruits. In Little Big Planet, players navigate through giant levels filled with deadly contraptions, complex mazes and passages that can be accessed by operating switches, rotating platforms and grabbing and swinging from lanterns or other hanging objects. The objective is to reach the other side of the stage, but players will collect stickers, costumes, materials and objects to customize their character and make levels with. Taking place in the fantasy medieval land of Cornelia, players are first tasked to save a princess for a King and then they set on a quest to save the world from four elemental manifestations of evil called the Four Fiends. The overhead-style game offers the basics of traditional RPG elements, including random monster encounters, strategic decision making and acquiring items and experience points to equip and level up each character.
